About EQUITY
EQUITY For All of Us is an organization founded by the leaders of UNITE HERE Local 1, the hospitality workers Union, in the spring of 2020 in response to the enormous impact on hospitality workers of the COVID-19 Pandemic. At EQUITY, our goal is to serve both union and non-union hospitality workers across Chicago.

Housekeepers, Servers, Bartenders, Bar porters, Bussers, Cooks, hotels, casinos, convention centers, stadiums, school cafeterias, airport restaurants and coffee shops are overwhelmingly women, immigrants and people of color. We live in every neighborhood of Chicago – with concentrations in neighborhoods like McKinley Park and Belmont-Cragin. We are Chicago, and we make Chicago the amazing city it is.
At EQUITY, our goal is to advance social, economic and racial justice for marginalized communities in Chicago’s hospitality industry. Equity’s focus is to continue the kinds of social outreach, services and leadership development led by UNITE HERE Local 1 leaders, in the communities where hospitality workers live, among both union and non-union hospitality workers.
